We are the members of at Genete Tsige St. George Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. For the past 10 years we have had the great pleasure of sharing our faith and cultural tradition with the Oklahoma community. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is an ancient church and we proudly continue the same worship traditions today. As the only Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the state of Oklahoma, we take great pride in upholding the values and beliefs of our faith. Our congregation gathers from far and near from Edmond to Norman and as far out as Wichita, KS! Our church is home to not only Ethiopians but other nationalities as well. Our diverse community welcomes new members from all walks of life to become lifelong members.

Unfortunately, our growing number of members has led to a problem of overcrowding and lack of space for different parish and Sunday school activities. To solve this problem, we have set out to construct 2600 sqft facility that will serve as a multipurpose hall. This hall will allow us to accommodate more guests and limit crowding as we continue to grow in number. In addition we will have a more convenient space to hold our annual Discover Ethiopia event, where members of the Oklahoma Community learn about the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Ethiopian culture, and taste Ethiopian foods. Thus, we are asking you for any contribution to make our plans a reality and we appreciate donation of any size.

This church is more than just a place of worship, it is a place in which our community joins in communion with one another whether in times of joy or sorrow. It is where our community gathers for weddings, baptisms, festivals, and holidays. With your help, we hope to build a space where the next generation of our members can strive towards bettering our community and also give back to the city we love. Please, feel free to visit the link, to make a contribution and follow the progress of the new hall. Thank you and God Bless!!!
